Description

Welcome one, welcome all to an exciting week of Drama, Performance and Games galore. Led by two London based classically trained actors, one a Camellia Waldorf School Alum to boot, we will explore the art of telling stories and expressing ourselves with the world as our stage. Over the course of this week, we will dive into the words of Shakespeare as a vehicle for speech, use our bodies to create narrative through movement and physical theatre, and learn stage techniques used in the theatres of London. All of this will be brought to you in an inclusive, fun and dynamic environment where expressing ourselves authentically is encouraged. All ages are wonderfully welcome.

This camp is led by Camellia alum Maya-Nika Bewley and offers an additional option for Week 6. Acting for All will take place at the same time as Fun in the Sun, but will be a separate cohort.

Campers will enjoy hands on activities based on weekly themes as well as lots of time for outdoor play on our beautiful campus along the Sacramento River, lead by caring and experienced camp staff and many of our own Camellia Waldorf School teachers. Grades camp serves students ages 7-13 (1st-6th grade). If you have a student on the younger or older end of the spectrum and would like to discuss enrollment options please feel free to email us for more information.

COVID Safety: We are currently planning to operate camp based on the same COVID safety protocols we have implemented all year long, including requiring face coverings, limiting cohort size, spending lots of time outdoors (and if we move inside, lots of ventilation), physical distancing, and careful cleaning and sanitizing procedures with the understanding that as guidance is updated protocols may be adjusted.

Wait List: Due to cohort requirements, camp registration is limited. If the week you want to sign up for is full, please email Janna Nygren at [email protected] to be put on the wait list.

Cancellation Policy: A family may cancel registration before June 1st and receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. After June 1st but before two weeks prior to the start of camp, families will receive a refund minus a $75 administrative fee. Cancellations within two weeks of the start of camp will not be refunded. We reserve the right to cancel camp for any reason (including insufficient enrollment or COVID quarantine requirements), with full cost of enrollment refunded.
